Fig. 1 —Graph shows mean time-enhancement curves obtained from monitoring scan. Mean H is displayed with SE bars at 2-second intervals after 5 seconds. Enhancement of superior vena cava (SVC) appeared approximately 2 seconds ahead of enhancement of main pulmonary artery. Mean time interval from 100 H to 200 H was 5.0 seconds for the main pulmonary artery and 6.3 seconds for descending aorta. Plateau phase of curve in main pulmonary artery was higher than 200 H and lasted about 25 seconds (measured from monitoring scan of 45-second delay group). Shortly after completion of contrast injection, late peak occurred (35 seconds for SVC and 37 seconds for pulmonary artery) that corresponded to saline chase period. Scale in left-side y-axis is for mean H of pulmonary artery and aorta; scale in rightside y-axis is for mean H of SVC (arrow). Top curve = SVC, middle curve = pulmonary artery, bottom curve = aorta.
