NI graph shows dose penalty if NI is decreased from 40 to 30 for 0.625-mm reconstruction slice thickness. As seen in graph, relative dose at NI of 40 and 0.625-mm reconstruction slice thickness is 1.0 (dotted line). At same reconstruction slice thickness of 0.625 mm, but changing NI to 30, relative radiation dose is 1.8 (solid line), resulting in 80% increase in relative dose.
