NEUROPATHY FOLLOWING IRRADIATION

AN UNUSUAL LATE COMPLICATION OF RADIOTHERAPY

A patient with Hodgkin's disease developing radiation neuropathy, involving the brachial plexus, as a late consequence of orthovoltage radiation therapy is described. Peripheral nerves are "radioresistant" to acute irradiation, but are susceptible to delayed (and secondary) alterations.
