UNUSUAL RENAL CALCIFICATION FOLLOWING ACUTE BILATERAL RENAL CORTICAL NECROSIS

A CASE REPORT

The typical roentgenographic appearance and progression of calcification in a case of bilateral renal cortical necrosis in a postpartum patient with associated sickle cell disease are demonstrated. The shell-like cortical calcification with sparing of the medulla is characteristic. Due to prolonged patient survival, it is felt that this finding will be observed with increasing frequency.
