MILK OF CALCIUM IN A RENAL CALYCEAL DIVERTICULUM

CASE REPORT AND REVIEW OF LITERATURE

1. The patient demonstrating "milk of calcium" in a calyceal diverticulum may present with urinary tract infection and/or hematuria. In such cases surgery is indicated.

2. The present case concerns a patient with gross hematuria and urinary tract infection. Surgical removal resulted in cure.

3. About half of the reported cases (including Holm's Case 2) were described as incidental findings.

4. This is the second instance of surgical and histologic confirmation of this condition in vivo.
