REMOTE CONTROL PRONE PRESSURE SPOT FILMING

DAVID B. HAYT M.D.1 and DONALD SIMON B.E.E.2

1 Director, Department of Radiology
2 Assistant Physicist

A remote control fluoroscopic unit has been modified by the addition of an angiographic cradle and remotely inflated pneumatic prone pressure paddle to provide servo-assisted gastrointestinal examinations in debilitated or uncooperative patients.

The system provides greater accuracy and ease of positioning of these patients than conventional equipment, and results in a high quality examination. It further automates the examination of cooperative patients by remote control fluoroscopy.

Several approaches toward methods for more efficient utilization of remote control equipment are mentioned.
