A method is described for the delineation of abscesses in rabbits by scintiphotography using Cr51 labeled white blood cell preparations. The technique provides good images of abscesses in the extremities despite suboptimally pure labeled white blood cell preparations. Improved techniques of preparation, labeling and scanning may allow extension of this approach for human patients in whom the presence and location of abscesses may be a diagnostic problem.
