When 2-3 mc of indium 113m colloid is injected intravenously for liver scanning, it is also accumulated by the spleen. The splenic uptake is high enough to produce excellent scans in 5-10 minutes with the scintillation camera. Our routine method for spleen scanning includes anterior, posterior and oblique lateral views.
