RECOVERY OF DETACHED INTRAVASCULAR CATHETER OR GUIDE WIRE FRAGMENTS

A PROPOSED METHOD

1. A method is proposed for nonoperative removal of detached guide wire or catheter fragments from the aorta or other large vessels.

2. Further investigation of this technique would seem justified as a potential solution to a rare but formidable complication of catheter angiography.
