THREE DIMENSIONAL ROENTGENOGRAPHY

J. B. GARRISON 1, D. G. GRANT 1, W. H. GUIER 1, and R. J. JOHNS 1

1 From The Johns Hopkins University, Applied Physics Laboratory, Silver Spring, Maryland

A technique for producing a three-dimensional image of an object from a set of roentgenograms has been demonstrated. N individual roentgenograms, taken from different directions, are combined in a simple optical system producing a real image of the object in space. A moveable viewing screen permits observation of that part of the total image which corresponds to the roentgenogram of the thin section defined by the position of the screen.
