JUGULAR VENOGRAPHY

STEVEN H. CORNELL M.D.1

1 From the Department of Radiology, University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa

Jugular venography is useful in the assessment of the presence or extent of neoplasms in the area of the jugular foramen. The indications and technique as well as experiences with 5 cases are described.

The importance of compression of the internal jugular vein distally and injection of a sufficient volume of contrast material is stressed.
