The conduct of clinical cancer research by cooperating groups of investigators has been and continues to be a highly effective method for the rapid evaluation of large numbers of therapeutic agents in multiple dosages and combinations.

The wider application of this powerful research method to problems in the fields of cancer epidemiology, prevention, and diagnosis is recommended and anticipated.
