Standard roentgenograms of the chest and neck, with due regard for the importance of inspiration versus expiration, and with occasional addition of barium in the esophagus, and/or fluoroscopic recording techniques, will lead to the recognition and localization of many of the causes of upper respiratory tract obstruction in infants and children, and, in a considerable number, to the exact diagnosis.
