Three examples of the radiologic diagnosis of metastatic splenic tumor are reported. In 2 cases of metastatic melanoma, the history, concurrent pulmonary metastases, and plain film roentgen demonstration of the irregular nature of the splenic enlargement suggested the correct diagnosis. Technetium 99m sulfur colloid scans readily confirmed the diagnosis in each instance. The demonstration of discrete intrasplenic tumor masses by scanning aided in the diagnosis of disseminated reticulum cell sarcoma in a third case. Selective angiography complements the scan findings, and may provide the definitive diagnosis when splenomegaly is the only clinical abnormality.
