Six cases with bronchoceles are reported.
In most patients the appearance of the lesion is characteristic, in others the diagnosis can be strongly suspected.
A membrane is often present when the specimen is cut along its longer axis. This membrane is a strong element in diagnosis and should be searched for.
Bronchoceles are believed to be secondary to a temporary developmental anomaly of the bronchial tree.
