ABNORMAL MAXILLARY ANTRUM IN SUPERIOR ALVEOLAR RIDGE TUMORS AND GRANULOMAS

HARVEY I. WILNER M.D. and MEHDI MAHMOODZADEGAN M.D.

Six cases of tumors and 1 case of giant cell reparative granuloma originating from the superior alveolar ridge are presented.

Preoperative roentgenograms of the paranasal sinuses in all of these patients revealed destruction and/or clouding of the affected maxillary antrum.

Conversely, when such roentgenographic findings are noted, a primary site in the superior ridge should be searched for.
