1 Active Consultant Radiologist, The General Hospital, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.
A case of spinal canal stenosis involving the 9th thoracic vertebra is presented.
The myelographic findings and the neurologic symptoms suggested an intramedullary neoplastic lesion. At surgery, very thickened laminae of T9 were demonstrated acting as a signet ring and resulting in a spinal canal stenosis.
The literature is reviewed and in the discussion a comparative analysis is made with the cases reported in the literature and which deal only with spinal canal stenosis in the cervical and lumbar vertebrae.
