TISSUE MAXIMUM-DOSE RATIO (Tmr) FOR 8 MV X RAYS

SURESH K. AGARWAL PH.D., RONALD V. SCHEELE M.S., and JACK WAKLEY B.S.

The idea of tissue maximum-dose ratio is considered better than tissue air ratio and tissue phantom ratio for calculating dose at high energies.

The Tmr’s for 8 MV x rays have been calculated from percentage depth dose tables and are tabulated.

The calculated data have been compared with experimental measurements, and are found to be in good agreement.
