DETERMINATION OF THE MODULATION TRANSFER FUNCTION (MTF) USING A PROGRAMMABLE CALCULATOR

WILLIAM A. GOLDSMITH CPT, MSC and MARTIN L. NUSYNOWITZ M.D., LTC, MC

An algorithm has been developed for the automated determination, by an iterative technique, of the modulation transfer function for the line spread function data.

The logic presented herein has been employed to develop a technique for this determination using a programmable desk top calculator.

Examples illustrating the utility of the program are also presented.
