THE USE OF A CONSTANT PRESSURE PUMP FOR MAINTAINING THE PATENCY OF CATHETERS AND NEEDLES DURING ANGIOGRAPHY

BERNARD S. EPSTEIN M.D.

The use of a constant pressure injector* and a system of tubing and syringe is advocated for keeping catheters and needles open in the intervals between delivery of a diagnostic bolus of contrast material during angiography.

The apparatus is inexpensive, controllable, and utilizes readily available material. It promotes safety and is an added convenience during angiography.
