PROBLEMS OF BEAM SIZE CONTROL WITH SMALL IMAGE INTENSIFIERS

RONALD V. SCHEELE M.S., JAMES G. HUNTER JR. M.D., and CHARLES D. TEATES M.D.

The problems of beam size and shutter control during fluoroscopy and spot roentgenography using small (5-6 inch) image intensifiers are discussed.

Collimation of the beam should be accomplished between the x-ray tube assembly and the patient.

Some suggestions are given as to controlling the beam size during fluoroscopy.
