Despite recent advances in radiology and cardiology, the classic concept that abnormalities of left ventricular wall motion and aneurysm formation are identifiable by conventional roentgenographic and cardiologic techniques is still widely held.
Eleven cases are reported indicating that this is not true.*
Our experience clearly shows that, although the diagnosis of ventricular aneurysm is suspected, the only definite diagnostic procedure is left ventricular catheterization followed by contrast material injection and documentation of the ventricular chamber in the right anterior oblique position with cineroentgenography.
