UNILATERAL TOTAL RENAL DYSPLASIA IN CHILDREN

LARRY NEWMAN M.D., KENNETH SIMMS M.D., JOHN KISSANE M.D., and WILLIAM H. MCALISTER M.D.

Twenty-seven children with total unilateral renal dysplasia were followed from 2 to 28 years with a mean duration of follow-up of 9.1 years.

Only 1 instance of disease (a midureteral stricture) was found in the opposite kidney.

In patients whose presentation is that of an abdominal mass which proves to be a totally dysplastic kidney, the prognosis is excellent.
