BILATERAL HYPERNEPHROMA

A case of simultaneous bilateral hypernephroma is reported and the characteristics of the 20 cases previously reported in the English literature are discussed.

The criteria of value in distinguishing bilateral hypernephroma from a unilateral-primary lesion with contralateral renal metastasis are reviewed.

More widespread use of renal angiography should lead to an increase in the preoperative diagnosis of the entity.
