MULTIPLE LEIOMYOMAS OF THE ESOPHAGUS

JOSEPH E. GODARD M.D.1 and DOLPH MCCRANIE M.D.

1 Department of Radiology, The Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Leiomyoma is the most common solid benign tumor of the esophagus.

Although leiomyomas are usually solitary, multiple tumors occur in about 4 per cent of cases.

A patient with 2 separate leiomyomas of the esophagus is reported and the clinical and roentgenographic features of esophageal leiomyomas are reviewed.
