The arteriographic and pathologic features of 2 cases of focal nodular hyperplasia of the liver are presented.
Focal nodular hyperplasia is characterized by increased vascularity without true neovascularity and a well circumscribed dense blush which becomes more intense in the portal venous phase.
Liver scans with I131 rose bengal, Au198 and Tc99m sulfur colloid all showed concentration defects.
The varied presentation and benign nature of this entity are discussed.
