The individual uses of isotope angiography and abdominal ultrasonography have been the subjects of previous reports.1,2
These procedures are complementary and, when used together as a diagnostic battery, provide reliable information as to the presence and nature of an aneurysm. Both procedures are performed as ambulatory examinations. Use of these procedures will obviate aortography in patients without aneurysms and will provide objective guidelines for a rational selection of aortography in specific cases.
