The barium enema examination is a valuable routine roentgenologic procedurein the detection of extracolonic, intraabdominal, and, particularly, intrapelvic pathology.
Nine cases are presented to illustrate that the routine postevacuation posteroanterior roentgenogram may be the only view to indicate the presence of an extracolonic lesion.
