This report describes a new mediastinal shadow termed the right parasternal stripe, which can be seen through the right side of the cardiac silhouette, paralleling the spine.
It represents the interface between the right lung and the mediastinal fat and lends further support to the anatomic basis for the retrosternal line reported by Whalen and his co-workers.2
