THE INCREASED INCIDENCE OF CARCINOMA OF THE COLON FOLLOWING URETEROSIGMOIDOSTOMY

Presumably induced tumors of the sigmoid colon, often in young patients, are now a well documented complication of ureterosigmoidostomy.

The physician must be aware of this association and should obtain appropriate roentgen studies.
