The intimate anatomic-roentgen relationships of the kidneys to specific portions of the gastrointestinal tract are detailed.

Characteristic effects on barium contrast studies may first uncover primary renal disease, demonstrate its extent, and redirect the course of diagnostic evaluation.

The specific bowel changes secondary to renal masses, renal ptosis and rotation, invasive hypernephroma, perinephritis, renoalimentary fistulas, and renal agenesis and ectopia are described and illustrated.
