Primary liver cysts may cause diagnostic uncertainty when evaluated by conventional means. Ten cases of simple or multiple cysts unassociated with polycystic renal disease were studied. Ultrasonography was demonstrated to be the most accurate technique for visualizing these lesions and establishing their cystic nature.
