A series of 112 consecutive patients with histologically proven testicular tumors collected over a 20 year period has been analyzed and the principles of management are discussed.
The following factors were considered to be of importance : the histologic features, the anatomic extension (clinical stage) and the radiosensitivity of the tumor, the resectability of retroperitoneal radioresistant tumor metastases and the susceptibility of disseminated tumor to palliative chemotherapy.
