The neuroradiology of tumors of the pituitary gland includes plain roentgenography and laminagraphy of the sella turcica, pneumoencephalography, carotid angiography, and cavernous sinus venography. The pertinent observations with these modalities are reviewed and the technique of cavernous sinus venography and its applications are discussed. Precise delineation of the extent of tumor beneath the diaphragm of the sella is possible with this technique.
