ROENTGENOLOGIC CHANGES IN UTERINE ISTHMUS INSUFFICIENCY

S. BRÜNNER 1 and J. ULRICH 1

1 From the Departments of Radiology and Gynaecology, the Copenhagen County Hospital in Gentofte, Copenhagen, Denmark

The technique of hysterography employing a balloon catheter for the visualization of the uterine isthmus is described. The advantage of using this catheter for hysterography is the possibility of diagnosing isthmic incompetence while the patient is not pregnant and thereby establishing the probable cause of habitual abortion.
