Correlation of the findings on the initial intravenous urogram was carried out in 124 children without vesicoureteral reflux and in 116 children with vesicoureteral reflux. The urognams were abnormal in 90.5 per cent of those patients with reflux who required surgery in their management.
The abnormalities are analyzed and the usefulness of the urogram in directing initial management of the child with a urinary tract infection is discussed.
