Hidden elements (arrows) are commands that interact and communicate with database. For example, some commands specify which database to use and order of sorting.

Fig. 4B. Example of search for specific author. Database returned 32 citations authored by Rigler (Fig. 1). These records were returned to user according to specifications of HTML template (Fig. 2). Each individual citation is formatted in bibliographic style according to order of fields specified in template. Different bibliographic style could be accomplished by changing order of tags in template.
