Fig. 1A. Lactational left breast abscess caused by Staphylococcus
aureus in 23-year-old woman. Three needle aspiration procedures,
irrigation, and local injection of cephradine were performed. Breast-feeding
was not interrupted. Sonogram before initial aspiration of 40 mL of pus shows
cavity with irregular walls and fine internal echoes that were displaced by
transducer compression and by ultrasound beam penetrating cavity.
