Fig. 1A 76-year-old man with transitional cell carcinoma of urinary bladder and normal findings at initial cystoscopic examination. Transverse (A) and virtual cystoscopic (B) images show sessile mass (arrow) measuring 6 x 12 mm on left anterolateral wall of urinary bladder. Patient underwent second cystoscopic examination, at which CT findings were confirmed.

Fig. 1B 76-year-old man with transitional cell carcinoma of urinary bladder and normal findings at initial cystoscopic examination. Transverse (A) and virtual cystoscopic (B) images show sessile mass (arrow) measuring 6 x 12 mm on left anterolateral wall of urinary bladder. Fig. 3A 42-year-old man with apparent mass of urinary bladder wall that proved to be inflammation at histologic examination. Transverse (A) and virtual cystoscopic (B) images show large mass on right wall of urinary bladder. Transverse tomographic images show irregularity of perivesical fat, which suggests extravesical extension. Findings at histologic examination were negative for malignancy.

Fig. 4C 53-year-old woman with multiple transitional cell carcinomas of urinary bladder. Virtual image depicts two other lesions involving left posterolateral wall of urinary bladder: sessile mass (short arrow) measuring 5 x 7 mm and polypoid tumor (long arrow) smaller than 5 mm that was appreciated only on virtual images. CT findings were confirmed at conventional cystoscopy.

Fig. 5C 54-year-old man with transitional cell carcinoma of urinary bladder. Virtual image shows small polypoid lesion (arrow) involving left lateral wall. Lesion was not confirmed on conventional cystoscopy and was attributed to presence of blood clot.

Fig. 6A 68-year-old man with transitional cell carcinoma of urinary bladder with perivesical extension. Transverse (A) and virtual cystoscopic (B) images show large tumor of left posterolateral wall of urinary bladder. Mass has irregular surface and extends into perivesical fat (white arrow, A), which is appreciated in A. Urinary bladder calculi (black arrow, A) also are present.
