Each patient data point represents parotid gland size, age, and patient condition. Parotid gland size increased in patients with hyperlipidemia ({blacksquare}) but not Sjögren's syndrome ({blacktriangleup}). Mean values ± two standard deviations are plotted (containing 95% of data) to provide visualization of spread of control data versus patient values.
