High contrast between bright gastric lumen, which contains paramagnetic contrast material, and dark surrounding tissue allows rate of gastric emptying to be calculated. Three dimensional MR imaging data sets provides easy delineation of anatomic structures on images obtained in coronal (A), reconstructed sagittal (B), and axial (C) planes and on maximum-intensity-projection re-constructions (D).
