Patient sustained subarachnoid hemorrhage; traumatic aortic transection; contusions of liver, spleen, and kidneys; and pelvic and lower extremity fractures. Left anterior oblique and anteroposterior angiograms of thoracic aorta show contained transection of proximal descending aorta (arrows), just below level of ligamentum arteriosum.
