Coronal unenhanced T1-weighted image shows mass centered in jugular foramen
(star) with extensive surrounding infiltration of skull base. Note
medial infiltration into jugular tubercle and occipital condyle with
replacement of normal hyperintense marrow (solid arrow), spread into
posterior fossa and into internal auditory canal (open arrow),
lateral spread into middle ear cavity, and inferior involvement of
nasopharyngeal carotid space. Also note absence of high-velocity flow
voids.
