primary epiploic appendagitis. Transverse helical CT image with IV and oral
contrast shows round paracolic mass (white arrow) adjacent to
ascending colon with central hyperdense "dot"
(arrowhead). There is surrounding inflammatory fat stranding
(black arrow). Findings are consistent with epiploic
appendagitis.
